I understand there were a few issues raised down in Raymond of riders in the wrong class, we did ask at the last ADRA AGM that they recognize our riders and their placings, and that we should have the opportunity to ride the same class as we are in the PMA, this was set up to allow our pro's to help fill the pro classes in the CMRC if they chose to, now they are wanting people to ride the same class as they do in the PMA, I do NOT think this is fair as we move up our riders if they come in the top 3, and some of them get in the top 3 by being consistant and showing up at all the races, not nessesary the fastest, also we try to move ourselves up into the next class to have somebody to chase. I have asked the ADRA to look at this rule change with an open mind because there are alot of riders that do NOT belong in the higher class, if you are a rider that chases both series you might want to send a letter explaining your position in the PMA & why you feel you should belong in
one class lower in the CMRC.you can go to www.albertadirtriders.com and send your comments to Kim and she will pass them on. Remember our Jr. class is compaiable to their JR. "B" then their Jr "A" class in compaiable to our Int. class and our Pro class except for a few riders is compairable to their Int. Class.

*Rule Change*

There were some concerns raised at the Grande Prairie race with regards to the new Vet Master/Junior class.  Rider feedback was split, so the motion went to executive decision.  The motion is as follows:

To make the eligible age for Vet Junior/Vet Master 30 years of age as of Jan 1 of that year.  Also, create a 25+ class that will start with the Vet Masters, with the Vet Junior as a staggered start to follow.  All 25-29 year old riders that rode in either Vet class in Grande Prairie will carry 100% of their points to the 25+ class for Taylor.

The executive vote proved that the motion  was supported, and it will be carried through. There was only  1 vote against the motion between the PMA executive and all club presidents. Make sure you register for the proper class as this rule is in place for Taylor.

Lori Lietner will have all stats up at Taylor for review, including the standings for the Vet Junior/Vet Master and the new 25+ class. All concerns will be addressed, we just ask that they are written as a protest.  They will be dealt with as they come in, and the people involved will be contacted with any questions.

April 26, 2010

Based on the work completed at Rockvalley's workbee this weekend, the remaining items needing completion before the race, and the extreme lack of moisture in our area, Grande Prairie will not be hosting a paid practice this week. Sorry for the inconvenience. Also do not forget that their is a county fire ban on and open pit fires will not be allowed at the track unless things change this week.

Please note: PRE-REGISTRATION WILL BE FROM 6-9 PM SATURDAY NIGHT BEFORE THE RACE. It will help dramatically speed up the raceday on Sunday if a many as possible get in early to pre-register.
UPDATE: Rick & Lori will be selling transponders at the track Sat. from 12-6pm @ their trailer (they need to be charged for 12-16 hours to be full), and Pre-Pre registration will be going on there also (please come out early as there have only been 53 Pre registrations!)

Camping fees have changed to $10 but $5 entry fee will remain for everyone but riders, riders must provide name & bike number to get marked (we will be tagging vehicles and dobbing hands). Sorry for any confusion, hope to see you all out at the races!

April 20, 2010

Rockvalley will be closed saturday april 24 for a work bee from 10am to 4pm, help is welcome and lunch will be supplied stay tuned to our web site as we may be having a paid practice on april 29/30th there will be $20.00 camping fee that include 2 free passes , $5.00 spectator fee , and if you dont have a bike in the back of your truck or car it will not be allowed in the pits so tell your family and friends there will be lots of parking outside the gate

April 12, 2010

There will be 40 Day pass rental transponders available on a first come, first serve basis.  Day passes are $25.00, and the transponder rental is $20.00, which must be accompanied by a driver's license or credit card as a deposit.

Any riders that still have a PMA owned transponder: Please return your transponders, as the PMA needs these for Day Pass riders.  If it is not returned at the Grande Prairie race, you will not be allowed to race until it is returned or paid for.

April 12, 2010

Attention all riders, the CMRC is implementing transponders this summer as a trial run, and will be implementing the system next year like the PMA.  Also, you are entitled to ride the same class in the CMRC as in the PMA. Ex. Junior = Junior, Intermediate = Intermediate, Pro = Pro etc.

**REMINDER**

TRANSPONDERS WILL BE MANDATORY FOR 2010, PLEASE READ THE "PMA NEWS SECTION FOR MORE SPECIFIC INFORMATION!

Rick Leitner has been kind enough to buy some transponders and will sell them to you for $230.00.  He can be contacted at 780-814-1623.  Pre-registration will not be accepted unless there is a Transponder number on your form, however if you send $230.00 on top of your registration fee, you will be issued a transponder and your number will be entered into the computer. (Exception is for the 50cc 4-6). The PMA executive cannot stress enough how important it is for ALL PMA members to get their registrations in as early as possible to make opening day run smoothly. We just received an update saying that only 53 riders have pre-registered. This is unnaceptable!! Please pre-resigster ASAP upon receiving your transponder.

The PMA will not likely have enough transponders to sell to everyone on opening day and it takes some time to get them ordered from the USA. Please purchase yours ASAP, because if you do not have yours in time, you cannot be scored at the first round!

For more on the transponders (specific performance/warranty/regular pricing etc) visit:

January 18. 2010 (This note was meant to be posted after the year ender in 2009)

Hi to everyone out there in the PMA. Since I wasn't able to make it to the year end banquet, I wanted to take a minute to express my appreciation to a number of PMAers who have helped me out this season and throughout the years of my motocross career. As I've said before, being on the KTM factory team was a major factor in helping me get to the next level, but it's the people who have stood behind me through the years and those who have supported me at home that have laid the foundations. First, my family who has sacrificed as much, or more than I have over the years. Second, Countryside Motorsports and Darren Tait for putting countless hours into fixing motors for me this year and for supporting me since the beginning. Lou Maffret/Brandt Tractor and Rick Leitner/Brocko Rentals for making it possible to have a track at my house to train on. Having a track at home is a major bonus. Garreth Buchanan and BJ Moffat for hauling my bike and equipment to California this year and Aaron Hommy for hauling it back. It was sure nice to have some familiar faces in California for riding partners. Dan Demeule, Blair James and my brother Jus for generously lending me their steeds. I'll remember this as a season full of great moments: Getting a factory ride, winning my first national, getting the cover of MXP magazine, and running 3rd overall for most of the season. All of you contributed to my successes and I deeply appreciate it. The year went by way too fast and I'm already looking forward to next year. Hopefully I can continue to build on what I've established so far.

On a related note, I'd like to thank everyone who attended one of my riding schools this year. Giving back to the sport has been a great experience for me and I'm looking forward to making them bigger and better in the future.

Thanks

 Kyle McGlynn

Ladies & Gentlemen of the PMA...The site has been hacked! Just kidding. This is Jarrett King here, I wanted to inform everyone that as the new "webmaster" of the PMA site, there will be several changes to the site coming through in the next several months. Look for the site to have some more relevant/updated links to results, scheduling and rules(since the PMA will be going with all electronic scoring next season). Also, as my web savy increases, we will strive to have more relevant material posted on the website (including the buy/sell section) and a regular update of the news section. Bear with me as I work through this, but if you have any questions, email me via the "SEND COMMENTS" tab to the left of this news feed. Thanks for your patience!

Another season has come and gone...it was a great one thanks to all the clubs, board members, sponsors, riders and spectators!  We thank you for dedication to our Association and wish you a fantastic winter in all that you do.  Keep posting your comments and news and we will see you all next spring!

ALL Int/Exp transponders need to be returned with all parts and box.  Contact Jacqui Reber at 780-766-2281 to return or purchase your transponder.  Please remember that they will be mandatory next year and funds are needed to keep ordering.  Thanks a lot!
