Dawson Creek-Gravity Gulley MotoPark (South Peace Motorsports Association)
Location: Heritage Industrial Park, Dawson Creek BC
Directions: 2 km East of the Traffic Circle on Highway #49. Turn right (South) at Belsum Auto Recyclers and go another 1/2 km to the gate. Pavement access right to the entrance.
History: Our track was just recently completed in the fall of 1999. It was a result of thousands of hours of volunteer work that would not have been possible without the involvement of the South Peace Oilman's Association. The Oilman's Association used their many resources in negotiations with the city to first acquire the land and then to obtain much of the equipment and material necessary for the construction.
Layout: The track is a mixture of natural terrain and supercross including many elevation changes in and out of the gullies and forgiving man-made obstacles up on the flat. It is also wide which allows for multiple lines. Approximate lap times are an ideal two minutes. The soil is typical Peace Country loam that is perfect when moist but can get baked out when dry. The thirty man start gate is assembled and will be installed this spring. In addition an announcer's tower, a P.A. system, bleachers, and a watering system will be completed by the first race day.
Access: Gate locked at all times. All PMA members are welcome provided there is a Club member at the track. Practice hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (We are located within City limits).
Fort St John
IF YOU PLAN ON COMING TO FSJ FROM OUT OF TOWN TO PRACTICE, PLEASE CALL ONE OF THE EXEC'S ABOVE TO MAKE SURE THE TRACK WILL BE AVAILABLE TO YOU. OTHERWISE, ANY TRACK CLOSURES WILL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE.
The Fort St. John MX track is located 1/4 mile south of the Alaska Highway, just north of the Best Western Inn. It is across from the water treatment centre and is well posted on race days.
There is plenty of room for parking and camping.
The track has been at this location for 20+ years and was purchased from the City of Fort St. John in 2000. This year, another 1/4 section of land was acquired from the City under the same terms and conditions as the original land purchase. Application for the installation of a water system has been approved by the City and we hope to begin this project between races this summer or, time permitting, in the fall. In addition to the new gates required to host the CMRC race and the water system, we have acquired enough donated pipe to build a HUGE new grandstand which will be located on the other side of culvert (80 ft table) that was built last year. These bleachers will give spectators an excellent view of the entire track. Again, these changes are ambitious and will depend on a team of membership volunteers as well as dedication of the Executive Committee.
It is a technically challenging track that consists of a hard clay base with a sandy clay mixture on top. It is contoured to the natural layout of the land. The bleachers and announcer's booth are located on the top of the hillside which gives spectators a fantastic view of the track. Fort St. John was one of the first tracks in the PMA and after years of modifications, we can say with confidence that this track rocks! The most recent changes made to our track were last year when we installed an 80 ft. tabletop with a walk-through culvert. We also made some changes to the track up top and put in a few more doubles. This year, we will be concentrating on the new gates for the CMRC race and later in the season, the water system and bleachers.
On race day, mini riders will be allowed to practice on the mini track as long as there is adult supervision. We will however, ask all mini riders to stop riding and turn their bikes off for the starting of all races.
Policy regarding the use of this Mini Track is outlined below:
When a 50 cc bike is on the Mini Track, there will be no other bike sizes allowed on the Mini Track. IF there are NO 50 cc bikes on the Mini Track, 60 cc and 80 cc bikes are allowed to ride the Mini Track. No bike bigger than 80 cc will be permitted on the Mini Track at any time. If a 50 cc rider enters the Mini Track, all other size bikes must exit immediately.
The Fort St. John Motocross Club has a gate that is to be kept locked at all times. Any FSJ members requiring a key may sign one out with Darryl at Fast Trax. There is a $5.00 deposit on each key and if is a key is lost, there will be a $10.00 deposit for any additional keys required by a member. At the end of they season, members will get their $5.00 returned upon return of the keys. Next year there will be new keys cut. Also, any PMA members that are visiting the track and wish to sign out a key may do so also at Fast Trax. The deposit for visiting club members is $20.00. This will also be returned upon return of the key.
The Fort St. John Motocross Association has a lot to be thankful for this year! We've had an incredible amount of support from our business community and would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support.

Taylor MX
*Taylor Motocross track is located just off of Mile 36 on the World Famous Alaska Highway. It is very well posted on race days. There is lots of room for camping. *Our club is one of the original clubs in the PMA and have remained very family orientated club, as this is why our club was formed. We strongly support all riders, whether it be a 4 year old starting out or one of the "old guys" trying to make a full lap.
*Our club survives on volunteers and donations. Volunteers sometimes go unnoticed, as most think that the track just automatically stays the same all year. Just to mention a few people and companies: Sureway Construction, Al Lewis Contracting, Doug Miller, the Fort St. John Motocross Club, the flag people (too many names), District of Taylor (for selling us the land).
*We have and continue to have many good riders coming out of our club, Sean Edzerza, Russell Fraser, Cole Lewis, Cole Miller, just to mention a few. *Last year our track was in prime shape thanks to the hard work of Troy Morton, Chris Clay and Cole Lewis, who spent days making sure it turned out perfect. *We have put wood chips in our base in order to help control the dust, that every track faces. The track is a good one for all different types of riders. *The club hosts an annual general meeting every spring at the Taylor Curling Club, please watch for updates on the website. *We would like to wish all riders the best of luck this season and we will see you all at the first race.
Worsley Motocross
A two year old addition to the PMA motocross circuit, the Worsley track has been making steady improvements to their facility since day 1. Look for more on the Worsley track in the coming months.
