Hey everyone, I have dropped the ball again on my race recaps! I had a great time at Worsley 3, we saw some great racing and would like to thank the Worsley club for some top notch conditions. Points are still tight for most classes, nobody is giving anything away. I tip my hat to the racers who are putting in 100% until the end. Guys are riding hurt, sore, and with a passion that I haven't seen before.
It was my first time racing in Chetwynd since the new track was built, and I must say that I was impressed with the layout, the dirt, and the organization. I had a good day of racing although I sampled some Chetwynd soil a couple times! I wasn't the only one however, I saw Drew Clegg take quite a spill. I hope everything is good Drew! He didn't seem to give up any speed even though he was in pain, let me tell you that much. Tim Doll also hit the eject button in the first 125 expert moto, but bounced back to his feet before he came to a halt. Great job to the Chetwynd crew.
As most of you have heard, the banquet has been reformatted for a few different reasons, and I realize that there are mixed opinions of the change. I want everyone to know that it did go to executive vote, and I appreciate the planning and initiative by the GP club for the original plan. We have moved inside, all the details are on the PMA news page. (We have been experiencing issues editing the home page, so please bear with us). I hope everyone is excited as I am to celebrate the riders' accomplishments this year. Everyone should be proud from the racers to the clubs and parents.
I always say, its not where you get together, its who you get together with! Hope to see everyone on the 2nd of October in Hythe for the 2010 wrap up, but first we will line them up in Beaverlodge to decide the winners!

Well, I apologize for being late on the Worsley round #2 report! There were a couple of bad crashes early in the day, I wish Peter and Ranessa speedy recoveries. Although the day looked like it was going to run late, the Worsley crew got through both sets of motos by 6:30! I was impressed with everything from the track prep to how organized the day was. I had an awesome time racing and I'm not the only one. I heard lots of positive comments about the day. With three rounds left, I can't wait to see how these points chases shape up! There is some great racing on the track even as we move towards the end of the season. I can't wait for round 3 on the 15th!

I would like to say good job to the Worsley club. It was a good weekend of racing and the track turned out pretty good. Thanks to BJ for the MX'er rates at the camp. Motos were long, and the day was done early. You guys put in a great effort with watering and grooming the track, and the new jumps made it really fun. I like the idea of handing out the registration sheets at the gate! Good thinking. Anyways, 1 round down, 2 to go! See you on the 25th.

Well let's start with Dawson. I really enjoyed racing up there 2 weeks ago. The track was nice, people were happy, and the weather was hot. The season is shaping up to be a dogfight in many of the classes, and I can see people hanging it out for that one extra point. Racing has it's ups and downs, and it's how you deal with your bad races that gets you a championship.
Beaverlodge club had a great race as well, with the same intensity and heart. The track held up well, and we managed to have more than one line at the end of the day, which is not very Beaverlodge like. Hot weather is any clubs enemy when trying to keep the dust down, and Beaverlodge and Dawson were no different. You know when you come off from practice and you instantly start scraping mud of your bike, the host club tried their best to soak the place down.
We are half done 2010 and Lori is doing a great job getting the results up on the page quickly, so we know what we have to do next weekend. So far so good, hope to see everyone at Worsley 1.

Round three is in the books, good job to the Fort St. John club. I know it's tough putting on a race, as I have helped put the Beaverlodge race on for a long time. There was some tough competition out there, Dean Gordon said it best when he said, "PMA dudes are fast."
I am hearing some great feedback from the transponder system and I know I sure appreciate how efficiently the results are posted. Tammi, Lori, Jaqui, Cathy, Hali and anyone I forgot to mention, thank you for your efforts. Andrew, Brad and Mike did a great job keeping the motos moving along and it was a well organized race. Hopefully I didn't forget anyone, putting on a race is a thankless job, so I apologize if I left anyone out. A special thanks goes out to the flaggers and First Aid group, without you guys we don't get to race. There were some flaggers out there that had more dirt on their face than the racers!
Anyways I hope everyone is ready to go for Dawson Creek and good luck to all those racing in Edmonton this weekend. I am looking forward to seeing everyone on June 20!

I would like to say thanks to the Taylor club for a great race! The track held up well and things ran really smoothly. The transponder system was working great according to Jaqui and Cathy, and I am getting lots of positive feedback from the riders. Things didn't go so well for me starting on Saturday. I pinched two tubes trying to get tires on for Sunday, and after a good first half, I was stretching cable trying to keep up with McGlynn and wound up face down in the muck, with a sore shoulder. Like any good motocrosser I skipped the Doctor's office to get my bikes cleaned up and get all the parts in need of repair to the shop. Unfortunately we found a blown shock seal on Ashley's bike, but it worked out, I think she looks pretty good on a Honda! I did feel better however after my bad luck, as I got a text from my good buddy Darian Armstrong telling me, "I ran out of gas, and spent most of the day practicing picking up my bike."
There was a familiar voice on the Mic, and a familiar face running the finish line, thanks for that guys. And Dean, nice job to you and the boys' on the track. Oh and I have a question for that finish line guy... You said you raced in the PMA for 30 years, that must mean you started racing when you were 35?
I would like to say thanks to all who stopped by the trailer to see how I was doing, or for some of you, thanks for stopping by to make fun of me, Haha. Special thanks to Cal Boettcher for getting those parts on my bike so Ashley could make her moto.
Make sure you stop by the Gaudin's Honda trailer in Fort St. John for a visit, I look forward to meeting more new faces and catching up with the the old ones.
Until then, twist it!

Well I hope everyone is as sore as I am today! I had a great time yesterday at the Grande Prairie race. It was nice to see all the old faces and meet some new faces. I would like to thank the Grande Prairie club for thier efforts with the track, considering they faced the dreaded moisture robbing wind. I would also like to thank Jaqui Reber, Lori Leitner, Cathy Dyer, and Tammi Doll for their work with the transponder system (If I missed anyone I do apologize, without this kind of volunteer help we would not have the PMA). Thanks also to Kirk from the Billings Motorcycle club for his insight and expertise. Rick and Lori did a great job setting everyone up with a transponder and I heard entry numbers over 300! I am glad everyone has supported this. It goes to show that the PMA family are leaders in Canadian Motocross. I have never raced in an Expert class that big! There is a lot of talent this year across the board, as I saw some great racing all day long. People were riding like it was their last race every lap. I wish all injured riders a quick road to recovery.
I noticed Gareth at the MXF tent and the McGlynn's had set up a swap meet for used MX parts and gear. I think this is a great idea. It was good to see all that stuff that has been outgrown for sale, instead of collecting dust or in the garbage.
Anyone that had any trouble or noticed any errors with regards to scoring, make sure you email Lori Leitner (email addresses are on the Executive tab on the left of the page) so that she can not only get it fixed up, but we can also note what the cause of the error was. This will improve the system and give us things to watch for.
In the mean time train hard, and I will see you all in Taylor.

Happy New Year! I hope everyone's holiday was relaxing and you got to spend time with your friends and family. As we get ready for the 2010 season I want to share some exciting news. We will be changing over to the Transponder system this year, which will improve race day efficiency and more importantly provide more information to the rider. This system is very powerful and keeps the stats more automatic. We have tried it out for the past two years with the 125 Intermediate/Expert class and have worked out all of the inconsistencies that frustrated us at the start. Jaqui Reber is very confident in the system and has worked closely with the vendor to optimize the setup we have.
On another note, the pre-registration forms are in the process of being updated to include some more information that Tammy will require, so please be patient as we get the website caught up. I realize it has been pretty dormant over the winter with regards to updates and such, but we are working on getting it up to speed. Jarrett King has worked with the host company and got the site to a point where it can be easily maintained.
Also, I am open to everyone's opinions and ideas to make things better, and look forward to hearing from you. We have a great executive this year that is accompanied by a good relationship with the previous executive members. As everyone knows Rick, Hali and Nancy leave some big shoes to fill.
Everybody keep checking the website for updates and news as we implement all of the new stuff from the AGM.

SITE MAINTENANCE UNDERWAY....LOOK FOR A NEW UPDATE SOON :)
July 13, 2009
Well, I was wondering when the first rain out would be. And as much as I did not want to call it, there is usually a great mud race at Beaverlodge some years. I hope the people that did ride the track enjoyed themselves. We are going to re-schedule the race with our next race so we will be having a double header on Aug 15th & 16th. Thanks so much to the Beaverlodge club members that came out to help prepare for the race and the ones that stuck around to put everything away. BUT we did have one bad experience Saturday night. Somebody has stolen our track generator and one other generator from a Dawson Creek club member. The club is missing a Honda 1000 and the other is a Honda 3000. If anybody knows anything about this or if you hear of somebody, please do the right thing and contact myself at 780-814-1623. Thanks again for everybody coming out and look forward to seeing you at the next race.
Regards: Rick
